Besides networking opportunities, the Skokie Chamber is highly involved in state and local government advocacy.
They have represented business in changing ordinances regarding outdoor signs, trash bins, and liquor laws prohibiting bars within a certain distance of “religious” institutions.

The Chamber has also worked on the State level lowering LLC fees and on telecommunications infrastructure allowing cell phone companies to share towers. They are looking forward to working with Governor Pritzker on such issues as healthcare for associations, video-gaming institutions in Skokie, and student loan payoffs by businesses.
