Jeff has been doing commercial litigation since 1982. He outlined the steps that a litigation takes.
First, a complaint is made for a court to settle. Next the legality of the complaint needs to be settled. If legal, documents related to the case are gathered (“discovery”).Depositions of witnesses taken and a description of the case is prepared for a judge. The case may go to court or be settled before that. If it goes to court and your side wins, it may still take more legal action to freeze assets of the loser and see any money from them.
Give Jeff a call if you hear someone talking about having been wronged by a business and wanting to sue them.
