Joy loves providing help to people in her job. She thinks the acronym CARE describes her work best.
Compassion: most important in care givers. Could be as simple as changing terminology. “Driver” instead of “care giver” suggests more independence.
Awareness: monitor changes in physical and mental states so problems can be seen quicker.
Resources: network of providers (us) to help with other needs.
Empathy: understanding clients point of view.
Give Joy a call if you notice physical (hygiene, eating patterns, sickness) or mental (depression, confusion) changes in a loved one. Or if you are already caring for someone and need a break sometimes.
