Electronic Merchant Systems has two divisions: sales people and independent agents. Marty says the sales division can be very aggressive in promising better rates even sometimes in the cases of soliciting Marty’s own clients. 
Marty is on the independent agent side and also has great rates but his clients stay with him for his great customer service.

In addition to credit card processing, EMS also offers gift card programs. Give a client a gift card toward future sales with you as a thank you. They’ll appreciate getting money off and you’ll get additional business since they have to spend the card with you.
